Woke West watches as Russia and China rape Africa
IN times of extreme instability and uncertainty humans turn to religion, or a form of it. The West’s replacement of Christianity with the quasi-religious cults of Covid-19, climate change and transgenderism is another death knell for our once-great civilisation. But in Africa, Christianity has always mutated as a way to survive. A unique hybrid of evangelical doctrine, indigenous belief systems and ancestral worship, it offers a sense of security and community, of honouring kinship ties, and making meaning of impoverished, brutal lives which has characterised it from the arrival of the first missionaries.
